I have visited Maui many times, but this time was different. I was on a job to shoot for the Four Seasons Maui at Wailea Resort and Kohea Kai Resort. Two totally different scale hotels and they serve two totally different vacations.
Four Seasons Maui at Wailea:
-Ultra luxury
-Supreme Hospitality
-Steps from the ocean
Days Inn Maui:
-Steps from the ocean
-Everything you need
-Clean and well kept up
Besides the obvious, these hotels have their own benefits. The Four Seasons Maui at Wailea comes with more fees surround parking/valet, meals, and dining experiences. The crowd is older, and it is often crowded. It is a premier resort and I would consider it to be the best on Maui but everything is not always better because it is more expensive.
Kohea Kai is not crowded, parking is free, and steps away from the room, with the same sunset views as the Four Seasons for a fraction of the price. Everyone would love a good luxury stay… but sometimes it is not in the budget, or you aren’t looking for superior hospitality, or you just want a clean and safe place to sleep… Kohea Kai is a superior location to budget on a trip to Maui.
