Everyone knows Hawaii as paradise, but there is a side that tourists do not see or know about. The North Shore has a rich history that you can find online, but in this video, I show Hawaii from a different perspective.
The North Shore is a stretch of coastline that is known as the 7-mile miracle. We go from one end to the other, exploring mysterious deaths, shark attacks, natural dangers of the ocean, and the deadly ranks of big wave surfing.
(All of these stories are for educational purposes)
WAIALUA – Rural town built by sugar cane plantations and the mysterious cases that happened in this desolate part of the busy island of Oahu.
HALEIWA – Historic town with incidents people have never heard of, like shark attacks and car accidents that lead to falling in the ocean. This segment shows how surfing began on the north shore and some incidents that happened at the world-famous surf spot, Waimea Bay.
PUPUKEA – The deadly ranks of surfing originated in Pupukea at big wave surf spots such as Banzai Pipeline and Sunset Beach. Sharks cove is also located here, and it is shown that some tourists are not aware of the dangers.
KAHUKU – The most rural part of Oahu is home to a recent shark attack. The story of Tamayo Perry is released in this section. Turtle Bay and Kahuku point are reknowned parts of Oahu that are shown in a different way.
Oahu’s North Shore will always have a special place in my heart that is why I wanted to create this video… so I could learn more about it. Please like and subscribe to keep the dream alive! This is my first ever youtube video to be over 100k views and I plan to keep going! In 2026 I want to bring a new era of travel journalism. Message me @sidequestcoop if you would like me to turn any story into a film.
